Buzz has it that global search engine giant Google could collaborate
with Huawei on the next version of its Nexus device. Rumor has it that
Google has already signed an agreement with Huawei for the same.
Kevin
Yang, director of China research at mobile analytics company iSuppli
has shared via his Weibo account that Google has chosen Huawei to make
its Nexus smartphone/tablet.
The Mountain View company has
previously collaborated with Samsung, HTC and LG for making its Nexus
models. Also, making the next Nexus could be a big booster for Huawei in
particular as far its market reputation is concerned.
It must be
noted that reports that Huawei may be the maker of the next Nexus
device have been doing the rounds for quite some time now. An anonymous
source had earlier taken the same Weibo platform to suggest that Google
was planning to launch two Nexus variants sometime in 2015.
According
to the post, Huawei would be the maker of a low-end cheaper variant,
while a high-end Nexus would be manufactured by South Korean company LG.
The current breed of Nexus devices, the Nexus 6 smartphone and
the Nexus 9 tablet have been built by Motorola and HTC respectively.
The Nexus 6 is available in India at a price tag of
Rs.43,999 for the
32GB variant.
